A simple sandwich that is sweet with a little touch of savory from the peppery basil and balsamic. It's incredibly easy to assemble and doesn't require any cooking other than a toaster!

2tspbalsamic blackberry jam* see notes
small handfullfresh blackberries
3-5fresh basil leaves
Toast your favorite kind of bread. Spread cream cheese on two slices of toasted bread.
On the one slice of bread: spread a thin layer of the balsamic blackberry jam (or balsamic glaze + blackberry jam), spread another thin layer with blackberry jam. Cover with a small handful of fresh blackberries and fresh basil leaves.
And an optional drizzle of maple syrup. Cover with the other cream cheese spreaded toast.
* This is the leftovers from the Blackberry Glazed Brussels Sprouts and Broccoli. I highly recommend this for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but if you don't want to make the blackberry glaze you can make a quick fix right now: 1 tbsp blackberry jam mixed with 1/2 tsp blackberry glaze.Did you make it?
